It is clear that Calculus it is one of the toughest subjects for college students during their first of second year.

Your best bet is to practice a lot. Solve a lot of calculus problems, follow the solutions of examples you find on the net, or some examples provided by your tutor. Do problems over and over, in order to get an instinctive command of the methodology used to approach majority of problems. Only that way you will be able to catch, especially if you are in any way challenged by math in general.
